* Help the Gulf Effort * - Many of you may not have seen the devastation that the BP oil spill has caused in the Gulf of Mexico. Its impact will be felt in our nation for decades. The leak may or may not be permanently capped, but the livelihoods of the entire region have been altered perhaps forever. The oil is still there and hasn't gone away. Now we have to focus on cleaning up and restoring the area. ** This is what it really looks like in our Gulf. ** If you would like to help, this organization is right there in the middle of it and will put your donation to use immediately in the clean up effort to aid in the recovery of this national tragedy. Pets 911 - This is a great informational site for those of us with furry or feathered friends. No matter where you live in America, this site can link you to organizations in whatever area you may live or are interested in searching, regarding animal adoption, rescue, low-cost veterinary services, etc. It also shares other great informational links and sites to keep everyone updated with the latest news on those stories involving our animal friends.
Red Rocks - The site of many well-known concerts and a very scenic park. It's a great place to explore. I've hiked around Red Rocks, several times and had picnics up there. During the warmer months, whenever there isn't a concert, it's not uncommon to find a local sitting or standing on the stage as the sun is setting over the mountains playing on their bongos or strumming a guitar or playing a banjo. It makes for a very interesting and even more memorable experience.
Cheesecake Factory - This restaurant is located in the heart of downtown Denver, but also has two other locations in Boulder and near the Denver Tech Center, which is south of downtown. It has a nice atmosphere, a diverse menu, with reasonably priced items and great service and hours. If you're staying in a hotel near the downtown location, you can easily get to it or call for take out; even send the hotel to get it for you! Their cheesecakes are amazing - hence the name - and can be ordered online.
